New Beginnings
I have recently moved to Mooresville North Carolina and I want to focus on CTFWoodDesigns. I’ve set up a new workshop and I have produced some Keepsake Boxes for Christmas gifts, that are for sale on Etsy.
As I’ve explored the region surrounding Lake Norman I found a fabulous supplier of exotic hardwoods. When I visited West Penn Hardwoods it was like a child in a candy store. I bought a length of Splated Maple and have just finishing a Keepsake Box using this wood and accenting it with Padauk and Wendge. I also finished a box made of Rosewood and Leopardwood accented with Purple Heart.
Current Custom Orders
I just finished working on a custom cabinet made of Maple veneer plywood framed in Oak. The original furniture was made for my daughter for her off campus apartment, while attending Villanova University. She still uses the coffee table, shelving unit and end table. I am adding the cabinet for Connors and Julia’s toys.

One of my long longtime client has ordered another small table to display a Vase in her dinning room.
My client told me that she could not find a table suitable to display her Vase. The Vase is beautiful and deserves a custom table to accommodate the height and location. A table that will highlight the Vase and fit the decor of the room. The Vase will sits atop an oriental rug and under a gold framed picture and must blend with the dinning room furnishings.
The table top’s center is Figured Katalox, framed with Marble Wood and Wenge. The Marble Wood provides a golden hue to frame the Vase and blend with the furnishings. The Figured Katalox is a dark purple and enhances the mix of colors in the Vase. The legs will be Katalox and Wenge and will blend easily with the Oriental rug it will sit beside.
They previously ordered a table I made to display their chess board. I used and inlay of multicolored exotic wood to frame the chess set and bring focus to the set.

I recently finished a unique shelving unit built to surround an existing table and provide cover for the wiring from the television, sound bar, modem, and control box for the TV. I needed to create a unit that complimented the television mounted on the wall and become an interesting focal point.

The finished unit sides were stained ebony to match the existing table and the shelves and backing were stained a lighter brown to match the table top and contrast the ebony. The shelves allowed me to position the electronic equipment without clutter and covering the tangle of wires that electronic equipment presents.
